EVOLVE GYMNASTICS CLUB - RULES

It is a condition of membership that all members and parents abide by the relevant Club Rules and Codes of Conduct at all times. Parents, please ensure that you spend time familiarising yourself and your child with the club rules. We aim to make the club training environment as positive and friendly as possible and the club rules exist to help ensure that this happens. Club rules are: -

  • The appropriate annual club membership fee must be paid from the first session that your child attends to remain a member of the Club, and Scottish Gymnastics. Link to register https://www.british-gymnastics.org/gymnet/register/registerstart
  • All fees must be paid on time to secure place for the block. 
  • By attending the start of any block the member undertakes to pay for the whole block even if the decision is made to terminate their membership before the end of that block.
  • Failure to pay club fees will result in membership being terminated.
  • When invited to participate in gymnastics competitions or displays entry must be handed in to the club by the dates specified
  • Gymnasts’ attendance should be as close to 100% as is physically possible.
  • Gymnasts must be excellently disciplined at all times and coaches have the right to discipline gymnasts in an appropriate manner.
  • No jewellery to be worn at any time (including belly bars), long hair must be tied back, and t-shirts must be of a non-slip material. No football colours should be worn to classes.
  • All gymnasts have a responsibility to keep the gym tidy and in good condition. Gymnasts are responsible for tidying up after themselves and putting their empty drinks bottles and rubbish in the bin when finished.
  • Only gymnasts, coaches and authorised individuals are allowed in the gym in normal circumstances.
  • Members must not arrive earlier than 5 mins before their class begins 
  • Members should wait outside the gym hall until collected by Coach 
  • Children should not use any equipment unsupervised or go on the hall stage 
  • Gymnasts should not perform skills unless advised to by a coach
  • Parents who wish to remain on the premises during class time must wait outside the centre

EVOLVE GYMNASTICS CLUB - CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PARENTS/CARERS

  • Must ensure their child fully understands the code of conduct for gymnasts.
  • Ensure their child is dressed appropriately for each training session & all jewellery is removed with hair tied back
  • Notify the coach of any injuries/illness the child has prior to the session
  • Parents/guardians must wait outside the centre & not intervene with the session unless discussed with the head coach.
  • Parents must notify the club prior to next block if child is not returning.
  • Share any complaints or concerns about any aspect of the club with either the head coach, club secretary or the child protection officer.
  • Never punish or belittle a child for losing or making mistakes.
  • Must drop off & collect their child on time.
  • Inform the club of any changes in contact details.
  • Must respect the coaches’ judgement of what level their gymnast is at.
  • Ensure that the coaches are notified if anyone else is collecting their child from the session.
  • Ensure that gymnasts are on time for training and competitions. 
  • The club will not tolerate rudeness or rowdy behaviour from gymnasts or parents or membership will be terminated.
  • Please ensure fees are paid on time. Failure to pay fees may result in you or child’s membership being suspended.

The Club will not tolerate individuals who fail to adhere to these standards.

EVOLVE GYMNASTICS CLUB - CODE OF CONDUCT FOR GYMNASTS

Evolve Gymnastics Club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all its gymnasts. The club believes that it is important that gymnasts, coaches, volunteers and parents associated with the club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. Therefore, gymnasts are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club with group coach or Lead coach

As a member of Evolve Gymnastics Club you are expected to abide by the following gymnasts code of conduct:

  • All gymnasts must follow the rules and respect the coaches and helpers decisions
  • All gymnasts must respect the rights, dignity and worth of all gymnasts regardless of gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
  • Members should keep to agreed timings for training and competitions or inform their coach if they are going to be late or can not attend.
  • Members must wear suitable kit for physical activity
  • Members must wear club uniform at competitions eg,Club leotard/vest & shorts & Tracksuit if applicable.
  • Long hair must be tied back, gymnasts must remove all jewellery including body piercings, and earrings that cannot be removed must be covered with tape prior to the start of training sessions. Any jewellery or belongings left in the centre are not the responsibility of the club.
  • A high standard of behaviour is expected from gymnasts at all times including competitions and club trips.
  • Be proud of your own achievements and encourage fellow gymnasts to succeed too.
  • Always be courteous to coaches, parents and other gymnasts.
  • Always listen carefully to coaches instructions and teaching points
  • Always tell a coach if you need to leave the class
  • All equipment in the gym & the training venue should be treated with respect at all times.
  • Gymnasts must inform coaches of any injury’s or illness prior to each training session or inform of any injuries or illnesses that occur during the session.
  • Gymnasts should not leave the gym hall until a parent or guardian comes into the hall to collect them
  • Gymnasts must ask a coach if they need to leave the gym hall.
  • Gymnasts must ask a coach if they can have a drink.
  • Gymnasts must not perform any skills without consent of a coach.

EVOLVE GYMNASTICS CLUB POLICY STATEMENT

Evolve GC is committed to exemplary standards of conduct through the principals of equity and good moral and ethical frameworks. The club will encourage individuals from all communities to become involved at all levels of participation, coaching, officiating and management.

The club will ensure that all members of staff adhere to the following equity principals:

1. All persons must respect the rights, dignity and worth of every human being.

2. All individuals must be treated fairly and equally regardless of gender, age, ethnic origin, religion, political persuasion or disability.

3. Equity must permeate throughout strategic and development plans.

4. An equal and professional service will be provided for all participants and discrimination through race, gender or disability will not be tolerated.

5. Sexual and racial harassment and discrimination will not be tolerated.

EVOLVE GYMNASTICS CLUB HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT​

Evolve GC recognises the duty it has under the health and safety acts and regulations to ensure the safety, health and well-being of gymnasts, coaches, officials and helpers when they are involved in club activities. In particular it recognises its responsibilities to:

1. Provide a safe and healthy training and competition environment for gymnasts and coaches through assessing the risks associated with participation and controlling them to ensure they are minimised.

2. Ensure that adequate arrangements are in place in the event of an accident, fire or other incident.

3. Ensure that coaches and helpers have the appropriate gymnastics coach training and safeguarding.

4. Keep our arrangements under review and introduce additional measures considered necessary and practical in relation to the operation of the club business.


EVOLVE GYMNASTICS CLUB CHILD PROTECTION POLICY STATEMENT​

Evolve GC is committed to ensuring that those working with children and adults adopt the best practice to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the participants and staff.

The club will promote the highest standards of care for all members, staff and officials by:

1. The adoption of Scottish Gymnastics Health, Safety and Welfare Guidelines.

2. The adoption of Scottish Gymnastics Guidelines for the Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults.

3. The appointment of a Welfare Officer (Child Protection Co-ordinator)

4. Ensuring that staff are suitably trained in child protection and health, safety and welfare issues.

5. Ensuring that coaches and officials have been screened to confirm their suitability to work with children. Where appropriate this will include Criminal Record Bureau disclosure.

6. Ensuring that the best coaching practice guidelines are followed at all times.

7. Ensuring that grievances or complaints are dealt with promptly and in accordance with grievance procedures.

8. Ensuring that a minimum of two responsible adults are present at all training sessions and events.

9. Having a low tolerance level to poor practice, bulling or any potential form of abuse.
